Mr. Walter's Teacher Profile, 7th Grade Science
Welcome to my website! I am Mr. Lee Walter, a recent Graduate student from Kutztown University where I earned my Master's in Secondary Education, Biology. Becoming a teacher has always been a goal of mine ever since I was young and I feel fortunate to realize that goal. I have found it well worth the wait and my teaching experiences have been wonderfully rewarding and fulfilling. It is a career I wake up into every day excited about what it will hold.
Prior to Kutztown, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology, from Albright College, where I was 1 of 5 in my graduating class to be awarded the ‘Golden A in Leadership’, one of my proudest accomplishments. I played Basketball for Albright during my years there and now coach the Brandywine Heights Middle School Boys Basketball. At Kutztown I started a Fencing Club and currently compete in regional competitions with the Epee and Foil. My favorite species is the Ailurus fulgens, or Red Panda, and only wish they were more economically affordable. My favorite literature book is The Count of Monte Crisco, by Alexander Dumas. My favorite science book is The Synaptic Self, by Joseph Ledoux.
As for my teaching philosophy, it is simple. I strongly believe and expect excellence from my students, as long as honesty and effort are the prerequisites. I believe that expectations are the key to success, and that success is measured by the individual’s standard of growth.
